Introduction to Life Planning

This distance learning course offers students a full understanding of what life planning is and how they can deliver life planning services to others. It is aimed at those people who have the opportunity to impact on the life planning of other individuals with whom they work, for example those who work within human resources, finance, education, advice/guidance or the health sector.

Life Planning is a broad term which is used to refer to a variety of activities performed by individuals with the aim of arranging the future for themselves, their families and others (typical examples include financial planning and making a will.) The general field of life planning includes the specific areas of mid-life planning and pre-retirement education.

Life Academy has successfully organised advanced courses for practitioners for many years. The Introduction to Life Planning for Professionals course has been developed in response to a perceived requirement for an introductory course to meet the needs of such individuals who may not wish to embark immediately on more advanced study.

There are no entry requirements or assumptions about previous knowledge required prior to embarking on the Introduction to Life Planning for Professionals course; you simply need to have an interest in the subject of Life Planning and be able to read and understand the course materials.

In establishing this course we aim to provide a nationally recognised introductory qualification in Life Planning for people from widely varying professional backgrounds.

The course aims to introduce you to the basic concepts, perspectives, theories and context of Life Planning. You will also become more aware of certain aspects of practice, such as ethical implications, and of the benefits of Life Planning.
