Module 2 - Adult Learning, Facilitation & Evaluation in Mid-Life & Pre-Retirement Planning
Aims and Learning Outcomes The aim of this distance learning module is to explain theories of adult learning, group work, facilitation and evaluation. This module is a core module for the Postgraduate Certificate in Life Planning. By the end of the module students will be able to:
- critically assess adult learning theories
- appreciate a wide range of learning strategies for working with older people
- identify the role of group processes within the learning situation
- be aware of techniques which can be used to harness the group process
- be aware of the factors which can create negative group dynamics and how they can be eliminated
- critically assess methods for evaluating educational programmes
- clarify the role of evaluation in mid-life planning and pre-retirement education
- appreciate the value of the involvement of retirees in devising evaluative instruments and procedures
- devise strategies for evaluating mid-life planning and pre-retirement education.
