Who is it for?
This experiential course is designed for experienced facilitators now seeking to become master practitioners. You may have developed and be using your facilitation skills in a wide range of professional or voluntary capacities.
How will you be more effective?
You will know the master principles of facilitation, be able to adapt your energetic style to the changing processes in groups, and have strategies for the development of individuals and groups in the most effective ways.
Course content
The six-day course will be in two study blocks, taking place at Life Academy's office in Guildford. The programme will:
- identify your core faciltation skills and underpinning values
- provide master classes in facilitation
- design and implement specific contexts in which you can develop your expertise and enhance participant learning and development
- identify ways to harness the energy of groups for growth
- explore creative and innovative techniques to build resources.
Where there is appropriate theoretical information needed to support practice, this will be identified.
A key component of the programme will be Master Classes in Facilitation led by expert facilitators from the fields of human potential, holistic health, diversity and life planning.
You will then gain the opportunity to practice and build on your facilitation skills with these experts in a safe environment.
Reflective practice will be used to review your facilitation which will include individual and group feedback.
Assessment
The assessments for the programme will include:
- A written plan including adult learning and facilitation theories
- An internal observed practice supported by a detailed plan for a facilitated session of 30 minutes based on participant needs
- An external observed practice of a minimum of three hours
- A written self-reflective assignment, based on your observed facilitations, on your progression in facilitation including learning points for the future.
